Lactoperoxidase is
an enzyme extracted from premium quality bovine milk. It
has been shown to be bacteriostatic
against gram-positive organisms and exhibits pH dependent
bacteriocidal action against gram-negative organisms
in the presence of thiocyanate and hydrogen peroxide.
